Azerbaijan’s men’s volleyball club Khilasedici, which will compete in the CEV Challenge Cup, will not face weak opponents.
As Idman.biz reports, head coach Jalil Jalilov shared his thoughts with Report news agency, stating that his team is already preparing thoroughly: “Our statistician and manager have started gathering information. The opponents are unlikely to be weak. Last year, Turkiye’s Arkasspor won the Balkan Cup, but Turkish clubs won’t participate this time. Six teams competed last season; the number for this year is still unknown. We’ll learn our opponents in August. But it doesn’t matter, we have to prepare. We’ve built a strong squad this year, and I trust my team.”
Khilasedici will face the Balkan Cup winner in the Challenge Cup. The Azerbaijani team will make its European competition debut in the 1/32 finals, with the first leg scheduled for November 11–13 and the return leg a week later.
