- "Ganja" will debut in the High League this year. How did the team creation initiative come about?
- The initiative to create the "Ganja" club consisting of female volleyball players came from the leadership of the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation. Last year, 4 clubs competed in the National Championship, this number will increase to 6 in the new season. In addition to "Ganja", the "Buta" team will also debut in the High League. Our team is made up of strong volleyball players. Work is being continued in the direction of the formation of the team.
- What will be the goals of the club?
- Of course, the Championship. We will do our best to justify all the trust of people. From now on, it can be said that the Championship games will take place in the conditions of intense sports competition. There will be strong competition. The teams are seriously preparing for the new season.
- The coaching staff of the team is almost made up of foreigners...
- Yes, the club has been entrusted to Belarusian specialist Sergey Chasnavitsky. In addition to being quite a professional specialist, he has a rich coaching career. Chasnavitsky, who is the head coach of the Belarusian women's volleyball team, has also led several clubs. Another Belarusian specialist, Vladimir Moysievich, and Argentinian Ignacio Agustin Ibarra were included in the coaching staff. Both specialists are quite professional trainers.
- Where will Ganja play games?
- The club will appear in the new season to achieve the set goals. We will play our home games at Ganja Olympic Sports Complex. The floor of the sports facility has been completely renovated and ready at the initiative of the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation. It must be admitted that there are many volleyball fans in Ganja. They are currently looking forward to the start of the Championship games. Our club's fan group has already been formed. It is very gratifying that there are many people who want to play volleyball in Ganja.
- What are your plans to give local young volleyball players a chance?
- Work is being done to form the club's teams in lower age groups. I hope that the students of our team will compete in the High League from the next season. A large number of applications have been received for the divisions of our teams consisting of lower age groups. Our professional trainers conduct selection work among them and attract potential teenagers to training. This process is also controlled by the management of the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation. The main goal of the institution is to achieve the popularity of this type of sport in our country. As "Ganja" club, we also intend to contribute to this mass.
- Do you think that "Ganja" will be able to stimulate the development of this type of sport in the region?
- "Ganja" club is the first regional team in the history of Azerbaijan championships among women's volleyball players. In addition to giving impetus to the development of volleyball in the region, this will bring motivation to those who want to engage in this type of sport, and a new view of volleyball among young people. We hold presentations about our club for children in secondary educational institutions located in Ganja. In those presentations, volleyball players from our club - members of our national team, Narmin Farajova, Leyla Parshkova, Brazilian Fernanda Melo, Serbian Tiana Jovanović, Russian Olga Zakharova, Irina Klimanova, Anastasia Salina and others, took part in the presentations, giving information about their rich careers and boost them up to play volleyball.The players of our team are greeted with great enthusiasm in Ganja. It is very gratifying that The volleyball clubs with the title of our country will come to Ganja to play away games. The city administration is also closely interested in our club. We express our gratitude to the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation for the excellent conditions they have created for us. All the achievements in the country's sports were possible as a result of the attention and care shown by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to this field. The Ganja club also aims to qualify for the European Cup by successfully performing in the National Championship. Our next goal is to advance confidently in the international arena and bring joy to our people with our victories.
