President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree honoring individuals for their contributions to the development of the Paralympic movement in the country.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing AZERTAC, four athletes have been awarded the "Tərəqqi" (Progress) Medal on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan's National Paralympic Committee.
The recipients are Elvin Astanov (shot put), Ramil Gasimov (para judo), Parvin Mammadov (para powerlifting) and Oloxan Musayev (shot put).
The state awards recognize their contributions to the development and promotion of Paralympic sports in Azerbaijan.
The National Paralympic Committee plays an important role in supporting athletes with disabilities, developing para sports and promoting Azerbaijan's participation in international Paralympic competitions.
