Azerbaijan’s boys’ table tennis players have advanced to the individual final at the 3rd CIS Games.

According to Idman.biz, Onur Quluzada and Adil Ahmadzada delivered impressive performances in the semifinals, securing their spots in the final match.

The individual events of table tennis at the 3rd CIS Games have begun.

According to Idman.biz, in the girls’ individual competition, Marziya Nurmatova defeated her Uzbek opponent, Maftuna Gulimova, 3-0 to advance to the final.

Another athlete, Yagmur Mammadli, lost 1-3 to her Russian opponent, Alina Ilimbetova, in the semifinals.

The men’s and women’s national teams of Azerbaijan claimed silver medals in the team table tennis competitions at the 3rd CIS Games.

According to Idman.biz, both teams were defeated by Russia, losing 0-2. The table tennis tournament, featuring team, singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events, is scheduled to conclude on September 29.

As part of the 3rd CIS Games being held in Azerbaijan, new competitions are scheduled for today.

According to Idman.biz, the finals of the boys’ and girls’ team table tennis events, as well as the quarterfinal and semifinal matches of the individual competition, will take place at the Gabala Olympic Complex.

The group stage of the U-16 football tournament will also begin today. In Group A, the national team of Azerbaijan will face Tajikistan, while Russia will take on Belarus in Group B.

The Games feature competitions in 23 sports (archery, badminton, 3x3 basketball, boxing, canoeing, chovgan, fencing, U-16 football, Greco-Roman wrestling, judo, karate, rhythmic gymnastics, rowing, sambo, rifle shooting, trap shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, trampoline gymnastics, volleyball, women’s wrestling, freestyle wrestling) across 12 venues.

The 3rd CIS Games are being held in seven cities of Azerbaijan — Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Sheki, Goygol, and Khankendi. The opening ceremony will take place on September 28 and the closing ceremony on October 8 at the Ganja City Stadium.
