The Organizing Committee of the World Games, set to take place in Chengdu, China, has officially unveiled the medals for the competition.
The medals feature iconic Chinese symbols, including the giant panda, the golden snub-nosed monkey, and the golden sun bird, all representing the country’s rich cultural heritage, Idman.biz reports.
The multi-sport event will bring together over 4,000 athletes from 120 countries, including Azerbaijan, and will feature competitions in 40 different sports disciplines.
Azerbaijan will be represented in several gymnastics disciplines, including:
Tumbling: Mikhail Malkin
Acrobatic Gymnastics: Mixed pair Agasif Rahimov and Raziya Seyidli; men’s pair Murad Rafiyev and Daniel Abbasov; and the men’s group consisting of Riad Safarov, Rasul Seyidli, Abdullah Al-Mashaykhi, and Seymour Jafarov
Aerobic Gymnastics: Mixed pair Vladimir Dolmatov and Madina Mustafayeva
Additionally, two decorated champions will represent Azerbaijan:
Irina Zaretska, a three-time world champion in karate (68 kg)
Amin Guliyev, world champion in kickboxing (63.5 kg)
The World Games will take place from August 7 to 17 in Chengdu.
