“It’s heartening to see European and World Championship medalists here with us today,” said Chingiz Huseynzade, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee, during a voluntary blood donation event.

"A healthy mind lives in a healthy body. We decided to invite our athletes to take part in these kinds of initiatives more frequently. It’s important for people to see that athletes are not only showing strength on the field but also extending a helping hand, through their own blood, to children suffering from thalassemia. This is truly a significant event for us."
The large-scale blood donation campaign is being held with the support of the National Olympic Committee, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health's National Blood Bank and the Azerbaijani Center for the Development of Blood Donation. The event will run until 16:00.
