The worn or damaged medals awarded to Azerbaijani athletes at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics will be gradually replaced.
This was confirmed by Murad Farzaliyev, spokesperson for the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan, in a statement to AZERTAC, Idman.biz reports.
“The replacement process has already begun,” Farzaliyev noted. “We are in regular contact with the French side. We've been informed that the process is underway, with medals of French athletes being replaced first. The replacement will proceed in stages. However, no exact timeline has been provided yet.”
