A delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran, led by Minister of Sport and Youth Ahmad Donyamali, is on a visit to Azerbaijan.
İdman.Biz reports that on 7 August, the Iranian delegation visited the grave of national leader Heydar Aliyev. They then visited Martyrs’ Lane and the Victory Monument, where they paid tribute to those who lost their lives.
Later, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov held a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Ahmad Donyamali and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting focused on opportunities for cooperation in the fields of youth and sport, the exchange of experience and the organisation of mutual visits.
Following the meeting, the two sides signed the “Action Plan for 2026–2028 on the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Sport and Youth of the Islamic Republic of Iran on cooperation in the fields of youth and sport”.
Ahmad Donyamali and the delegation will also visit a number of sports facilities in Baku.
