The most unusual Tetris World Championship in history took place in Dubai, with a representative of Azerbaijan among the participants.
According to Idman.Biz, the Red Bull world final was held in a unique format: the famous Dubai Frame served as the game screen, measuring 150 by 93 meters, while the Tetris shapes were formed by around 4,000 drones with changing lights.
Azerbaijan was represented at the world final by the winner of the national stage, Elnur Jalilov, who became part of one of the most high-tech and spectacular sporting shows of the year.
In total, more than seven million games were played in the qualification stages and national finals held across 60 countries ahead of the world final. In the decisive 10-minute grand final, victory went to 19-year-old student from Turkey, Fehmi Atalar, who defeated Peru’s Leo Solorzano.
