Budding UFC lightweight Nazim Sadykhov gave fans a glimpse into his mindset during a live Q&A session on social media, touching on everything from his favorite fighters to potential matchups and personal reflections.
Relaxed and candid, Sadykhov addressed questions from fans while heading to sushi after breakfast, saying he was open to answering anything despite not being very active on social media, Idman.biz reports.
When asked about a possible rematch with Nikolas Motta, Sadykhov downplayed the likelihood of a second meeting anytime soon.
“I see why people would want to see it again,” he said. “But there's just so many exciting fights in the division. Another fight between us now doesn't really do anything for either of us. If our journeys cross again, they cross again.”
He added with confidence:
“I have yet to be in a fight that’s not a banger.”
Sadykhov clarified recent speculation about a bout in Paris against French lightweight Benoit Saint Denis (BSD).
“No, no, I don't think BSD is next. I'm not gonna be on the Paris card,” he confirmed.
While he initially hoped for a quick turnaround after his last victory, timing didn’t work out.
“I read somewhere that BSD got booked just days later. End of the year for sure, MSG or Qatar. I want to go out east again.”
When asked about his favorite fighters, Sadykhov named some well-known strikers:
“Fiziev, Chimaev, Deniss Buzukja,” he said without hesitation.
He also elaborated on his appreciation for boxing within MMA, calling out a name that may surprise some:
“There’s a lot of good boxers in the UFC, but my favorite has to be Gamebred”
He explained that real boxing isn’t just about big punches:
“A good boxer has head movement, defense and offense, footwork, distance awareness… not just a nasty left hook.”
In a touching moment, Sadykhov spoke about his father watching his fights.
“That guy definitely watches me walk out and do the thing. And he just sits there, probably like, ‘Damn.’”
The session gave fans a closer look at the personality and mindset of a fighter who continues to climb the ranks in one of the UFC’s most competitive divisions.
