UFC welterweight Sean Brady has shared his thoughts on potential opponents for Islam Makhachev.
As reported by İdman.Biz, Makhachev is expected to face either Michael Morales or Carlos Prates next. The Russian fighter defended his UFC welterweight title in his most recent bout by defeating Ian Garry.
Brady believes Morales could present a more difficult challenge for Makhachev.
"Prates can knock anyone out, and everybody knows that. But I lost to Morales, not Prates, so I might be biased on this. I feel like Morales would be the tougher fight for Islam.
"At one point, I wanted to fight Prates myself and was preparing to face him. I watched his previous fights. There were moments when fighters from ONE Championship took him down and were able to hurt him. I think Islam could do the same thing.
"With Morales, we don't really know that much. Right now, he's still a mystery to everyone. We don't know how good his wrestling is or how good his cardio is. Islam could test him in both areas. I think those things would determine the outcome of the fight," Brady said.
Brady is currently ranked in the UFC welterweight top five. He sits fifth in the division behind Makhachev, Prates, Morales and Jack Della Maddalena.
