UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland could defend his title against French contender Nassourdine Imavov at UFC 337 in February 2027.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing MMA journalist Mike Bohn, the potential championship bout is being discussed for the upcoming event, although the promotion has yet to officially confirm the matchup.
Imavov has not competed since September 2025, when he defeated Brazilian contender Caio Borralho by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 258.
The French fighter has established himself as one of the leading contenders in the middleweight division and could now receive an opportunity to challenge for the championship.
Strickland, meanwhile, reclaimed the UFC middleweight title in May 2026 at UFC 328, defeating previously unbeaten Khamzat Chimaev by unanimous decision.
The victory handed Chimaev the first defeat of his professional MMA career and returned the championship belt to the American.
A potential meeting between Strickland and Imavov would also be a rematch of their January 2023 encounter at UFC Fight Night 217.
On that occasion, Strickland defeated Imavov by unanimous decision in a five-round light heavyweight contest after accepting the fight on short notice.
The proposed UFC 337 showdown would therefore give Imavov an opportunity to avenge that defeat while competing for the middleweight title.
Earlier, UFC lightweight contender Beneil Dariush expressed doubts about Imavov's chances of defeating Strickland in a rematch.
