Rafael Fiziev has revealed when he will arrive in Baku for the UFC Fight Night event.
The Azerbaijani MMA fighter will arrive in the capital one week before the event, Idman.biz reports.
Fiziev shared this information in an interview with the Vestnik MMA YouTube channel: "As usual, I'll arrive in Baku on Saturday, one week before the tournament. On Monday, the training will start. Baku is located in a lowland area, and the humidity is lower than in Thailand, so it will be easier for me."
Currently ranked 11th in the UFC lightweight division, Fiziev also addressed a question regarding who he sees as the division's champion by the end of the year.
The Azerbaijani fighter believes Islam Makhachev will successfully defend his title and that Ilia Topuria will not take it from him: "The lightweight division is very tough right now, but I think Islam will retain his championship belt because he is disciplined and skilled."
At the moment, Makhachev does not have an official fight scheduled, so he could defend his title and also rise to the welterweight division for a second title shot.
Fiziev will face Chilean fighter Ignacio Bahamondes at the UFC event at Baku Crystal Hall on June 21.
