The ASED-16 professional MMA tournament, dedicated to the memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, was held in Sumgayit.
The fights took place at the Sumgayit Olympic Sports Complex, Idman.biz reports.
In the main bouts of the tournament, Elmir Jafarov defeated Khayal Niftaliyev, Murvet Rustamov triumphed over Farhad Ahmadov, Ilkin Babayev beat Tural Mammadov, and Shamil Adibayev emerged victorious against Nijat Tagiyev. Young Nihad Guliyev also claimed a win over the experienced Marat Safarov.
In other matches, Ali Mammadov defeated Jasarat Yusibov, Abbas Abbasov won against Nihad Nabiyev, Agil Huseynov triumphed over Samir Mammadov, Ramzi Mammadov overcame Ahmadagha Ibrahimov, Pirali Yaraliyev defeated Atamali Khankishiyev, and Ajdar Babayev beat Adalat Zeynalov.
The opening ceremony of the tournament, which featured 11 fights, also included a speech by Zakir Farhadov, Head of the Sumgayit City Executive Power.
