"It is gratifying that this competition will be held in Azerbaijan without any problems. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed, especially the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan.
According Idman.biz, this was said by Nobuyuki Sakakibara, the founder of "Rizin" Fighting Federation.
He expressed his approval for the organization of the "Landmark 7" Tournament held in Azerbaijan for the first time outside of Japan. The head of the organization said that it is possible to hold the competition again in Baku: "It depends on the interest of Azerbaijan. "Rizin" tournament can be held in Baku again. I note once again that this depends on interest."
Sakakibara commented on the fights of Azerbaijani MMA fighters Tofig Musayev and Vugar Karamov: "Their fights were important. In one, the Azerbaijani audience was happy, and in the other, it was sad. The beauty of irregular combat is precisely the mutual exchange of feelings. I'm glad that we made Azerbaijanis feel good."
He also spoke about a possible rematch between Vugar Karamov and Japanese Chihiro Suzuki, whom he lost in the upcoming tournaments: "Of course, it is possible and it depends on Karamov. He was very disappointed today. I believe he will improve his strength. If Vugar wants it, it is possible to organize a rematch in the future."
It should be noted that the competition was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and "Rizin" Fighting Federation at the National Gymnastics Arena.
