Azerbaijani-born kickboxer Chingiz Allazov has announced plans to launch a major new kickboxing promotion.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the fighter shared the announcement on his Instagram page.
The new project will operate under the auspices of the International Boxing Association (IBA) and will be called IBA PRO. Allazov is expected to serve as one of the key executives and officials within the new structure.
The kickboxer will be involved in the league's organizational and management activities, working to develop and promote professional kickboxing through the IBA platform.
Allazov previously competed in Singapore-based ONE Championship, where he became a world champion and also topped the promotion's pound-for-pound (P4P) rankings, which recognize the best fighters regardless of weight class.
The Azerbaijani-born athlete has sought to terminate his contract with ONE Championship following disagreements with the organization. He subsequently stated that he intended to focus on personal projects and the development of the combat sports industry.
Further details regarding the launch date and competition format of the new promotion are expected to be announced in the near future.
Allazov was born in 1993 in the Gardabani region of Georgia. He is a ONE Championship World Grand Prix winner and the promotion's undisputed lightweight champion. The fighter currently resides in Belarus.
