ACF official commented on the national team's performance at the world championship

Executive Vice President of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (ACF) Rashad Rasullu commented on the national team's performance at the world championship held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.

ACF official made a statement to Report about this, Idman.biz reports.

He considered the national team's performance satisfactory: "We finished the competition with 3 bronze medals. Also, one of our judokas took fifth and one seventh place. We consider these results satisfactory. The record among men in terms of the number of medals was repeated. As in 2017, this time we won 3 medals.

In addition, the competition showed that there are still certain points that we need to work on. In particular, the fact that our athletes lost matches in which they were ahead in the score in the last seconds showed us that we need to work more seriously on some points. In this direction, appropriate changes will be made in the training process."

Azerbaijan was represented by 13 judokas (9 men, 4 women) in 10 weight categories in the individual competition at the World Championships. National members Zelim Tchkayev (81 kg), Eljan Hajiyev (90 kg) and Zelim Kotsoyev (100 kg) won bronze medals.

In the team competition, Azerbaijani representatives lost to Germany in the 1/8 finals - 1:4.
