The highly anticipated UFC Fight Night in Baku has officially wrapped up, marking a historic milestone as the capital of Azerbaijan hosted the global MMA promotion for the very first time.
The event took place at the iconic Baku Crystal Hall and featured a total of 12 action-packed bouts.
Azerbaijan was represented by three fighters, with standout performances delivering both triumph and heartbreak.
The co-main event saw Azerbaijan’s top-ranked lightweight Rafael Fiziev (No. 11) take on Chile’s Ignacio Bahamondes. Fiziev impressed with a dominant showing, securing a unanimous decision victory with scores of 30–27 on all three judges’ cards.
Another highlight of the evening came from Nazim Sadykhov, who faced off against Brazil’s Nikolas Motta. Sadykhov secured a second-round technical knockout, overpowering his opponent with a strong striking display.
However, the night wasn't without its setbacks. Making his UFC debut, Tofiq Musayev faced experienced Kyrgyz fighter Myktybek Orolbai. Despite a valiant effort, Musayev fell short, losing via submission in the opening round.
The night’s main event featured a thrilling light heavyweight clash between former champion Jamahal Hill and former title challenger Khalil Rountree Jr. Rountree delivered a dominant performance, earning a clear-cut unanimous decision victory.
