Azerbaijani UFC Fighter Withdraws from New York Event Due to Injury

Azerbaijani UFC fighter Nazim Sadykhov will not compete at UFC 334, scheduled for November 14 in New York.

As reported by İdman.Biz, Sadykhov confirmed that an injury has forced him to withdraw from his scheduled bout against Brazilian fighter Jefferson Nascimento at Madison Square Garden. His opponent has also pulled out of the event due to injury.

"I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that I won't be able to compete in my previously announced fight. I suffered an injury at the very beginning of my training camp and have been dealing with its effects for more than five weeks. Initially, I planned to adapt to the situation and still step into the Octagon.

"However, my opponent also withdrew due to injury. As a result, my team and I decided to inform the UFC so they wouldn't look for a replacement opponent for me.

"The good news is that I won't need surgery or face a lengthy recovery process. I'll overcome this injury and return as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone who has supported me. See you soon," Sadykhov told İdman.Biz.

The Azerbaijani fighter last competed in June at the UFC event in Baku, where he faced Brazil's Mateus Camilo. The Brazilian secured a technical knockout victory just one minute and 31 seconds into the opening round.

Sadykhov holds an overall professional MMA record of 11 wins, three losses and one draw. His UFC record stands at four victories, two defeats and one draw.
