The "Grand Slam" Tournament continues in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
Idman.biz informs that on the second day of the competition, 2 judokas of the Azerbaijan national team joined the fight.
One of them was ranked at the third.

Rashid Mammadaliyev met Biaslan Blimgotov (Bahrain) in his first match. Mammadaliyev advanced to the 1/16 finals. He also defeated the German Igor Wandtke at this stage. After Mammadaliyev, Thelmo Gomes (Portugal) was eliminated from the competition. Mammadaliyev challenged Makhmadbek Makhmadbekov (AIN) in the 1/4 finals. Rashid continued the successful series and left the tatami as the winner. He clarified his relationship with Uzbekistan's Shakhram Ahadov in the semi-finals. Unfortunately, the match ended in favor of the opponent.
He representative fought against with Jack Yonezuka (USA) for the bronze medal. Mammadaliyev defeated his opponent and took the 3rd place. This was the second bronze medal of our national team at the Grand Slam.
Unlike Rashid, Ibrahim Aliyev was saddened by the defeat in the first match. He could not cross the barrier of Ayub Khazhaliyev (AIN).
It should be noted that on the first day of the competition, Leyla Aliyeva (48 kg) won a bronze medal as part of Azerbaijan national team.
