A bizarre incident involving the goaltenders of the Canadian team took place during an NHL regular-season game between St. Louis and Chicago.
According to Idman.Biz, after St. Louis and Team Canada goaltender Jordan Binnington conceded seven goals, the coaching staff decided to make a change. However, Binnington refused to leave the ice, forcing his teammate Joel Hofer, who was supposed to enter the game, to hide in the tunnel leading to the locker room behind the players’ bench.
The unusual situation quickly drew attention and became one of the most talked-about moments of the game.
