The European Handball Women's 17 EHF Championship has started in Baku, İdman.biz informs.
The first match took place at the group stage of the continental championship at the Baku Sport Palace.
After the flag of the European Handball Federation was hung on the field, the game began between the teams of the Faroe Islands and Greece, who took places in group B. The game ended with the victory of the Faroe Islands team with a score of 27:22.
At the European Championship, 10 teams will compete in two groups. The Azerbaijani national team will compete in group A with the teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Lithuania and Georgia. Spain, Israel, Greece, Luxembourg and the Faroe Islands will compete in Group B. The Azerbaijani national team will play its first match against Georgia today.
