The Azerbaijani national artistic gymnastics team has entered the final stage of preparations for the upcoming European Championship.
The continent’s premier competition will be held from May 26 to 31 in Leipzig, Germany, Idman.biz reports.
The national team roster includes Nikita Simonov, the overall World Cup winner in rings, as well as Ivan Tikhonov, Rasul Ahmadzada, Mansum Safarov, Murad Agharzayev, and Deniz Aliyeva.
In total, athletes from 37 countries will participate in the European Championship. The competition will feature 165 male and 136 female gymnasts.
Last year, Simonov won a silver medal in rings at the European Championship.
