He said that 541 participants divided into 46 teams will compete in the European Championship.
"304 adults and 237 teenagers will represent 14 countries - Austria, Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Great Britain, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal and Sweden," said Sjöstrand.
He also drew attention to the stars of the upcoming European Championship. "Among the participants will be 7 members of the 2022 star team: Nicole Hosseini (Sweden), Bryndis Gudnadottir (Iceland), Agnes Arvidsson (Sweden), Asta Kristinsdottir (Iceland), Holly Barbour (Great Britain), Tofig Aliyev (Azerbaijan) and Connor Wharram (Great Britain). Aliyev won a silver medal at the European tumbling championship this year. Together with Adil Hajizade, he was the co-author of the historical achievement of the Azerbaijan team in tumbling, which won the gold medal at the 2023 World Championship.
Our 2022 star Tabea Zirnig (Austria) is also on the list. While some are making their debut in international competitions, others can boast of extensive experience in participating in numerous European championships. The list also includes the name of the gymnast who took part in the TeamGym competition in Ostrava (Czech Republic) in 2006 - Juan Peixinho Ferreira from Portugal," Sjöstrand added.
