The opening ceremony of the Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling World Cup was held in Baku.
Idman.biz reports that the ceremony took place at the National Gymnastics Arena, where the competition was organized.
The event started with a parade of participating countries.
After that, Mariana Vasileva, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed her satisfaction to see the guests in Baku: "We are opening the gymnastics season with an important competition. This is an important stage for qualifying for the Olympics. 32 teams have come to Baku and intense competition is expected. This is the 7th time that Azerbaijan has hosted this tournament."
Vasileva thanked President Ilham Aliyev and Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation President Mehriban Aliyeva for the achieved achievements and the care given to sports.
After wishing success to all the athletes, the deputy minister declared the World Cup open.
It should be noted that the competition, which started today, will end on February 25.
