Marshals for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Formula 1 have already started their activities.

The fastest drivers in the world will hit the streets of Baku tomorrow, and the primary team ensuring their safety, the marshals, is fully prepared, Idman.biz reports.

This year, approximately 1,500 marshals will monitor race safety. Starting early in the morning, they traveled from the Athletes’ Village to the track, took their positions, and prepared for any situation that might arise during the race.

Marshals are divided into various functional groups: fire marshals, flag marshals, track marshals, and other support teams. Each group has specific duties, but the primary goal of all marshals is to create a safe and seamless environment for both drivers and spectators.

Today, they toured the track, familiarized themselves with their posts, received instructions, and conducted training exercises for various scenarios. Each marshal’s role is pre-assigned, and all activities are focused on maintaining the highest level of safety.

Formula 1 marshals operate on a voluntary basis not only in Azerbaijan but worldwide. They participate out of love and passion for the sport, with many viewing it as a demonstration of dedication and commitment rather than a professional career.

Without the precision, discipline, and courage of the marshals, Formula 1 would not be possible. Thanks to their silent efforts, drivers can compete at high speeds, and spectators can safely enjoy the excitement of the race.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will take place from September 19–21 on the central streets of Baku.
