Idman.biz, citing Teleqraf, reports that this was stated by Kamila Abdullayeva during her interview with journalists while attending marshal training for the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
She noted that their main responsibility is to ensure safety at specific points on the race track: “I stand in the grid area, as well as at certain posts on the track. We marshals closely cooperate with the directors and race management. We hold yellow flags and wave them to warn drivers in case of any danger, accidents, cars stopping, or obstacles on the track. When the drivers see these signals, they immediately slow down and pay attention to the hazard. This plays a very important role in preventing further accidents. Our job is to ensure that the race proceeds safely and according to the rules.”
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held from September 19 to 21.
