Azerbaijani karting pilot Davin Jafarov has claimed victory in the Portuguese Cup in the EK125 CC category.
The 16-year-old racer (who will turn 16 in September) outperformed all his competitors at the "Kartódromo Internacional da Região Oeste" race track, Idman.biz reports.
Davin won the first stage of the Portuguese Cup and finished second in the second round. In the decisive third stage, he once again crossed the finish line first, securing the overall cup title.
With this achievement, Davin has earned the only available ticket to the European Championship. He will represent both the BirelArt team and Portugal on the continental stage.
His next challenge will take place at the end of May, where he will compete in the X30 category at the Palmela International Track.
