Red Bull will introduce what is expected to be the final major upgrade package for its RB22 at the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the Austrian team have already shifted most of their development resources towards the 2027 car. However, the latest package brought to Baku represents a significant technical update that could influence the performance of Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar during the remainder of the season.
Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies confirmed that the Baku package is likely to be the team's last substantial upgrade of the year.
"Yes, you're right. This is most likely our last significant package. We have already directed a very large part of our resources towards next year's car," Mekies said.
However, Red Bull have not completely abandoned development of the current car. The team are still searching for their first victory of the 2026 season, which Mekies has identified as one of their main remaining targets.
Verstappen has finished on the podium in four of the last five races but is yet to claim a victory this season.
The upgrade introduced in Baku mainly focuses on the RB22's floor and sidepod areas. Red Bull hope the changes will improve the car's performance and strengthen their chances of fighting for a first win in the remaining races of the campaign.
Red Bull currently sit fourth in the Constructors' Championship with 230 points, while Verstappen is sixth in the Drivers' Championship with 145 points.
