The Formula 2 sprint race at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix has concluded in Baku.
As reported by İdman.Biz, DAMS Lucas Oil driver Dino Beganovic produced the best result to take victory in the sprint race.
Trident's Laurens van Hoepen finished second, while Rodin Motorsport driver Alex Dunne completed the podium in third place.
Formula 2 action will continue at 14:15 Baku time with the first feature race.
Formula 2 is a junior single-seater championship regarded as the final step on the ladder before Formula 1. With drivers competing in cars of almost identical technical specifications, individual skill and team performance play a particularly important role. Formula 2 rounds are held as part of Formula 1 race weekends.
The 2026 Baku round features a unique expanded format. It is the only Formula 2 event of the season to include two qualifying sessions, one sprint race and two feature races. A standard Formula 2 weekend normally consists of one qualifying session, one sprint race and one feature race.

The Formula 2 sprint race at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix has started in Baku.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the race got underway at 08:15 Baku time.
There was an incident immediately after the start. On the approach to Turn 2, Invicta Racing driver Rafael Camara collided with Prema Racing's Mari Boya.
The crash prompted yellow flags to be shown on the Baku City Circuit.
A second Formula 2 feature race is also scheduled to take place later today.
The Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend will conclude on September 26.
