The Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix will get underway at the Baku City Circuit today.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the opening day of the race weekend will feature two Formula 1 free practice sessions, giving drivers their first opportunity to assess track conditions and fine-tune their cars on the challenging street circuit.
Formula 2 will also be in action in Baku. The day's programme includes a free practice session followed by two qualifying sessions, each lasting 20 minutes.
The Baku City Circuit is one of the most distinctive tracks on the Formula 1 calendar, combining narrow sections through the historic part of the Azerbaijani capital with a long, high-speed stretch along the Caspian Sea.
The circuit features 20 corners. The Formula 1 race will be contested over 51 laps, covering a total distance of 306.049 km.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix has been part of the Formula 1 calendar since 2016, when Baku hosted its first race under the European Grand Prix name. Since 2017, the event has been held as the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
