The upcoming Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be a special event for Red Bull driver Isack Hadjar.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the French driver will make his return to Formula 1 at the Baku City Circuit following a lengthy absence due to a wrist injury.
Hadjar sustained the injury while training during the summer. As a result, he was forced to miss three rounds of the championship — at Zandvoort, Monza and the new Madring circuit. His most recent race appearance came at the Hungarian Grand Prix in July.
Following a period of rehabilitation, Hadjar has been declared fit to return to competition and will once again partner Max Verstappen at Red Bull in Baku.
"Oracle Red Bull Racing is delighted to welcome Isack back this weekend. Having made a successful recovery from his wrist injury, Isack will return to action at the Baku City Circuit on Thursday," the team said in a statement.
Liam Lawson replaced Hadjar at Red Bull during his absence. The New Zealander will now return to Racing Bulls, while Yuki Tsunoda will resume his reserve driver duties.
Red Bull also thanked Lawson for his performances over the past three rounds, highlighting his professionalism, dedication and contribution to the team.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend has been moved forward by one day this year to avoid a clash with Azerbaijan's Remembrance Day on September 27. Free practice will take place on Thursday, qualifying on Friday and the Grand Prix on Saturday.
