Audi has prepared an upgrade package for its Formula 1 car ahead of the upcoming Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing UOL, the new components will make their debut at the Baku round this Saturday. It will be Audi's first major car upgrade since the Austrian Grand Prix in June.
The team has yet to reveal details of the technical changes. However, the update could prove important amid increasing competition from its rivals.
Alpine, in particular, has made noticeable progress since introducing its own upgrade package at the end of August. The French team has shown stronger pace than Audi over the past two rounds, increasing the pressure on the German manufacturer to respond.
The Baku City Circuit will therefore provide the first competitive test of Audi's updated car. The team hopes the new package will help reduce the gap to its rivals and improve its competitiveness during the second half of the season.
Brazilian driver Gabriel Bortoleto is one of Audi's two Formula 1 drivers. The team is keeping the exact specifications of its Baku upgrade package under wraps ahead of its track debut.
