Antolin Gonzalez, a former racing driver, confessed to authorities that he killed his father with a stab to the neck.
Idman.Biz reports that the 23-year-old, held in pretrial detention since the incident on July 5, appeared at the Court of Instruction No. 2 in Aranda de Duero, where he sought a possible reduction in his sentence.
According to La Sexta, Gonzalez, a former runner-up in the Asian F3 Championship, stabbed his 56-year-old father in the neck inside an industrial warehouse in Burgos following a heated family argument. Gonzalez claims that his father was the first to grab the weapon, leading to a deadly struggle.
Gonzalez was arrested just hours after the incident in the village of Sinovas. He admitted to throwing the knife into the Arandilla River. Although emergency services found the father alive, they were unable to save him.
