West Ham United sack Graham Potter after poor start to season

West Ham United have dismissed manager Graham Potter after a disappointing start to the 2025/26 Premier League season, the club announced on Saturday.

The London side sits 19th in the table with just three points from five games, Idman.biz reports.

In a statement, West Ham said: “Results and performances over the course of the second half of last season and the start of the 2025/26 season have not matched expectations. The Board of Directors believe that a change is necessary to help improve the team’s position in the Premier League as soon as possible.”

The team’s poor form includes a 5-1 home defeat to Chelsea, 3-0 losses to Tottenham Hotspur and promoted Sunderland, and a 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace. West Ham have conceded 13 goals in five matches, the highest in the league.

Potter, 48, joined West Ham in 2023 and had been tasked with stabilizing the club in the top flight, but a series of heavy defeats prompted the board to act. The club has yet to announce a permanent replacement, with interim options being considered ahead of their next Premier League fixture.
