Azerbaijan national team forward Mahir Emreli reportedly regrets his decision to switch clubs in Germany.
Idman.biz, citing Sport24.az, reports that the 28-year-old striker has grown dissatisfied after failing to secure playing time in Kaiserslautern’s recent matches.
His difficulties have been compounded by strained relations with head coach Torsten Lieberknecht, who believes Emreli must work much harder to earn a spot in the starting lineup.
Emreli is said to be nostalgic for his spell at Nurnberg, where he previously played in the 2024/2025 season. The forward even attended his former team’s recent 2–1 win over Bochum in the sixth round of the 2. Bundesliga, applauding them calmly from the stands as a supporter.
Emreli joined Kaiserslautern earlier this season after leaving Nurnberg.
