Azerbaijan national team forward Mahir Emreli is having difficulty breaking into the starting lineup at Kaiserslautern.
According to Idman.biz, the club’s head coach, Torsten Lieberknecht, commented on the player’s absence from matches:
“I always try to reward good performances. At the moment, it is not essential for Mahir to be in the starting eleven. The team has found a certain rhythm. In such cases, a player may need to take a step back and work harder to regain a spot in the squad,” the coach said.
The German media also note that Mahir experienced similar issues during his time at Nurnberg.
Currently, Kaiserslautern sit second in the 2. Bundesliga with 12 points, just one point behind the leaders.
