Sabayil Bagyrov: “Experience alone is not enough” – INTERVIEW

Sabail defender Sabayil Bagyrov’s interview with Futbolinfo.az.

– The new season of the First League will start in half a month. How is the preparation going? Is Sabail fully ready for the new season?

– The preparation process is going as planned. We are working seriously in terms of physical and tactical training. We have played a few friendly matches, and in the coming days, we will have more games to increase match practice. It’s too early to say we are “100% ready,” but I believe we will be fully prepared by the start.

– In the first round, you will host Mingachevir. Will you be able to start the First League season with a win?

– The first games are always difficult because you never fully know how prepared the opponent is. We will try to show our game. Our goal is to start the season with a victory, and I believe we are capable of achieving that.

– Has Sabail set a specific goal to win the First League, or is the aim simply to return to the Premier League without necessarily winning the championship?

– The main goal is to return to the Premier League. Of course, the championship is an additional motivation for every player. We will fight for the best possible results.

– Among the First League teams, which clubs do you consider your main rivals?

– This season, the competition will be very strong. Many well-organized teams are in the league, and the championship will not be easy. We will try to be fully focused in every match and show our game.

– Sabail has many players with Premier League experience. Will this be enough for the team to perform successfully?

– Having players with Premier League experience is a great advantage. They play an important role both on the field and within the team. But experience alone is not enough, everyone must work at the highest level and show it on the field.

– You have experience in both the Premier League and First League. You’ve even won the First League with Shamakhi. Will returning to the First League after a year in the Premier League set you back?

– For me, the main thing is to play regularly and be useful for my team. Gaining experience in both leagues is an advantage for a player. On the contrary, it gives me more responsibility. The goal is not just to remain in the First League but to help the team return to the Premier League.
