Speaking after their 1:2 loss to “Araz-Nakhchivan” in the second round of the Misli Premier League, the midfielder said that the opponent is a strong team: “They were well-prepared against us. We needed to focus more on set pieces. But we conceded a goal from one of those situations. They scored the same kind of goal against us as they did against ‘Zira.’ I didn’t fully see the second goal, but they say it was a strange one. After that, they defended well. Still, we managed to score once. In short, ‘Araz-Nakhchivan’ beat us with our own weapon. We also created set-piece opportunities but couldn’t take advantage of them.”
He reminded that new players have joined the team: “We are trying to understand each other. We need a little time for that. Some players didn’t take part in the training camp and are still working to get in shape.”
Huseynov said the club president’s ambitious statement at the start of the season didn’t put much pressure on them: “Maybe a little. There might be some pressure from outside. But we’re trying to do our job. I think things will get better in the future. Let’s be a bit patient. Once our new players get into form, we’ll be much better. I believe we have a good squad. When we play in Tovuz, the local fans support us a lot. They are like the 12th player for us. I believe we will soon be hosting our opponents on our home ground.”
