Sabah's young goalkeeper Ravan Mirzammadov said this after receiving his first call-up to Azerbaijan's senior national team.
As reported by İdman.Biz citing AZERTAC, the goalkeeper thanked everyone who supported him on his way to the national team, including his first coach Mammadali Aghatalibov and Sabah, which he said played a major role in his development.
"I believe that if I get my chance, I will justify the confidence of the national team's coaching staff with my performances," Mirzammadov said.
The goalkeeper admitted that he did not expect to receive a call-up after Sabah's 3-0 victory over Shafa in the fifth round of the Azerbaijan Premier League.
"To be honest, the call-up was somewhat unexpected. But as I said, wearing the national team shirt is an honour for every footballer. I thank the coaching staff for their confidence in me," he added.
Mirzammadov also commented on the possibility of featuring for Sabah in the UEFA Champions League league phase, stressing that the decision rests with the coaching staff.
"Any decision must be respected. Of course, if I get a chance, I will do everything I can to help the team," the goalkeeper said.
