Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has spoken about comparisons with other legendary footballers and stressed that he wants to create his own path.
As reported by İdman.Biz citing L'Equipe, Yamal said he always aims as high as possible but does not make comparisons with Pele, Lionel Messi or other great players.
"I always say that everyone should aim as high as possible. If I were a waiter, I would want to become the owner of the restaurant," Yamal said.
"I play to make history, so that in 30 years young people will say: 'He was really very good too.'
"But it is not an obsession. I never think: 'I want to be better than Pele, better than Messi.' I do not want to compare myself with anyone.
"I want to be Lamine Yamal. I want to be remembered as Lamine Yamal, and I hope to be among the greats.
"I think I have the ability and the resources to do that, and everything depends on me," he added.
Yamal has already established himself as one of Barcelona's key players and one of the most highly rated young footballers in world football.
