You drew in the first game of the season. What are your thoughts on the match?
I think the first match of the championship didn’t go badly. Our team left a good impression. Opening games are always tough. This time too, we did our best to win. By working more on ourselves, we’ll try to fix the mistakes we made in this match in the upcoming games.
Do you think 1 point is a good result to start with?
We could have won the game against Karvan, in fact, we should have. Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible. Although we played well enough to deserve the victory, we had to settle for 1 point in the end. But I think this shouldn’t be considered a bad result either.
What is your target in the league? Just to stay up, or aim higher?
Although Gabala has played in the top flight before, this year our team returned to the Premier League. Our main goal is to perform in a way worthy of Gabala’s name and fight for the highest possible places.
Your next game is against a strong opponent, Zira. Do you believe you can win?
We respect our opponent. Zira is a strong team. But we are also preparing well for the game. I hope we can get a positive result from this match.
What are your overall impressions of the league after the first match?
There are high-level teams in the championship. Their squads include players with plenty of skill. In this sense, I think the Premier League is colorful and interesting. I believe there is strong competition in the league, and achieving the desired results won’t be easy for any team.
