“Kapaz” head coach Adil Shukurov gave an interview to the club’s press service.
The coach evaluated the team’s current situation and commented on the management changes, Idman.biz reports.
Adil, after almost a year-long break, you’ve returned to “Kapaz.” What differences do you see between the previous “Kapaz” and the current one?
Being back at this great club is both an honor and a responsibility. I thank the new club management for trusting me and giving me this opportunity again. I will do everything I can to make “Kapaz” better this year. This is a principle for me, and I believe this season the team will surpass the squad from my previous tenure. The chairman Adil, Farman Alizada, and other board members have provided all the necessary conditions for this. Player development is very important, and at “Kapaz” the environment is now supportive. The team’s training facilities are almost entirely at the disposal of the main squad. In the past, I wanted proper meals before and after training. Now, with the new management, players’ nutrition is taken care of. Spending more time together at the training base helps strengthen team unity. Additionally, the chairman has said that after the III CIS Games, the Academy’s training fields will also be equipped with lighting.
A new management has come to the club. What changes have you observed since their arrival?
Since the new management arrived, everyone at the club has become more responsible and results-oriented. The chairman demands this from everyone, and the club has provided the necessary conditions. From structural changes to support for the first team, everything has been arranged. Additional support has also been provided for the Academy coaches. In return, we will work harder to meet the management’s expectations.
How is the squad formation and player selection process carried out? Who is responsible for this?
The coaching staff is responsible for selecting players for the first team. We try to balance local and young players with foreign signings, and this process is ongoing. Board member Erkin Ibrahimov supports us in this. Some players’ integration into the team has been delayed, which naturally affects team dynamics, but this is normal in transfer matters. Nevertheless, I am confident we will fully implement the management’s directives.
There is still time before the transfer window closes. Are new signings planned?
We are in talks with several players. This will be resolved in the coming days, and after that, we will see a more competitive “Kapaz” in the championship. The coaching staff is giving their full effort, and I am confident we will meet the expectations of “Kapaz” fans and supporters.
