Marseille sidelined Rabiot and Rowe after locker room clash

After Marseille's 0-1 defeat to Rennes in the opening round of Ligue 1, the club has sidelined two of its players.

Frenchman Adrien Rabiot and Englishman Jonathan Rowe were punished by the club for their behavior in the locker room following the match, Idman.biz reports.

Reports indicate that a verbal argument broke out between the players after the loss, which escalated into a physical confrontation. Other Marseille players and the technical staff intervened to stop the fight.

Both players missed the next training session and are currently serving their punishment.

Marseille management has suggested that the players make a financial contribution to the club fund as a way to atone for their actions.
