Your thoughts on the match against “Gabala” in the first round of the Azerbaijan Premier League.
It was an exciting game. Although we fell behind in the score, we didn’t give up. We fought until the end and eventually earned 1 point. In fact, we could have even won. We had chances for that.
How do you evaluate your performance as a new team?
Yes, it was our first game. It’s nice that we picked up 1 point in our debut. But we cannot be satisfied with that. As a team, we need to improve and increase our potential.
This was your first game in the Premier League. Are you satisfied with your debut?
I know what I am capable of. I believe in myself. I know I can contribute to the team. I think I can be useful with my passing and link-up play.
Before coming to Azerbaijan, did you have any knowledge about our football?
I had some information. But I still need to learn more about Azerbaijani football. I know that we have a good team and good fans.
“Karvan” will not be able to play its home games in its own stadium for some time. How much will this affect your performance?
Of course, we would prefer to play in Yevlakh. Playing at home is always better. That way, you feel the positive energy of fan support. It’s true that we had supporters in Shamakhi as well, but we didn’t feel that support as much. In any case, we need to focus on the upcoming matches.
The pitch in Shamakhi stadium has an artificial surface. Will this negatively affect your performance?
Honestly, it’s not a problem for us. The condition of the field can be good or bad. We are used to playing in all kinds of conditions.
