In the season opener against Karvan, you had to settle for 1 point. How would you comment on the 1–1 draw?
It was a tough game for us. We worked well on the field, but it was clear that the level of the Premier League is higher.
You took the lead in the second half but still couldn’t secure the win. What happened?
We were really close to starting the season with 3 points. Unfortunately, we ended up with just 1. If we had scored the second goal, things would have been easier. Sadly, we missed several real chances in both halves.
You scored the first goal of the season…
Of course, that’s very nice. But I would have been even happier if our team had won.
Considering you scored, would you call your Premier League debut successful?
Honestly, I don’t want to rate my own performance. I can only say that I can do more than I did. I’m working on that and will try to perform better in each game.
How ready is Gabala for the Premier League?
Overall, our team’s level is not bad. Some players joined a bit late, but our preparation was at a high level. We will try to be more successful in the upcoming matches.
What is your team’s goal for this season?
We will try to perform as successfully as possible. I believe in our squad and our team. With hard work, we can achieve good results.
