Hakan Calhanoglu sent off early in Inter’s comeback win over Monaco - VIDEO

Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu received two yellow cards and was sent off in the 36th minute during a friendly match against Monaco.

Despite being 0-1 down, the Italian side scored two goals in the second half to win 2-1, Idman.biz reports.

The winning goal was scored by Inter’s new signing Ange-Yoan Bonny.

According to "Gazzetta dello Sport," the second yellow card shown to Calhanoglu was highly controversial.

Monaco’s head coach Adi Hutter approached the referee to request that another player replace Calhanoglu so that both teams would have an equal number of players, but the referee rejected the request.

Calhanoglu has never received a direct red card in his career. He has been sent off twice due to two yellow cards in official matches, once during the 2013/14 season while playing for Hamburg, and once in his debut season (2017/18) at Milan.

In another friendly, Chelsea defeated Bayern 2-0. In that game, new signing Estevao scored his debut goal for the London club.
