According to Idman.biz, Turan Tovuz player Aykhan Huseynov said this in a statement to Futbolinfo.az.
The 26-year-old midfielder stressed that the main goal during the preparation period was not to achieve results but to build team cohesion: “In the training camp, results were not the priority. We had new players join us, and understanding each other was more important. We had many great chances to score, but luck was not on our side. I’m sure it will be different in the championship.”
Huseynov also touched on his individual performances in the preparation matches and emphasized focusing on the importance of the season: “I’m always better in training camps, but the main thing is to maintain that in the championship. The head coach gives a lot of tactical advice, which is normal because we still have room to grow.”
Huseynov said that increased competition motivates him even more: “There will be more competition this year, but that’s good because it motivates me to become stronger and help the team achieve results.”
Lastly, he highlighted the role of the fans and how important they are to the team: “Our fans are our 12th player, and they always help us. We always want to inspire them, and hopefully, this season they will support us as they always do.”
