– You defeated Moldovan side Petrocub in the second leg of the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round. What can you say about the match?
– We played very well, we scored the first and second goals early, which gave us confidence. We didn’t stop after the goals, continued with the same tempo, and increased our dominance. The game was already decided in the first half. In the second half, we controlled the match more and had chances to increase the lead, but we couldn't score.
– Did you expect such a big win?
– That result was already there by halftime... Honestly, I didn’t expect it to be 4–1 at the break... But I did expect a score like that by the end of the game.
– Do you think, if you had been more careful, you could have beaten Celje in the Europa League?
– It’s easy to be a general after the battle. If it had happened, what would’ve been? Honestly, I don’t know. It could’ve gone either way. This time it went in their favor, maybe next time it’ll go in ours. In football, you never know.
– In the Conference League third qualifying round, your opponent will be Bulgaria's Levski (Sofia). Do you believe you can get past this stage?
– You have to believe. Because without belief, you can't do anything. If you want to play in the group stage, you must beat a stronger opponent, there's no other way. Regardless of who the opponent is.
– How high are your chances of reaching the group stage?
– We have to believe in it. Of course, you need a bit of luck in the draw, too, how the dice fall matters...
– Lastly, we'd like to hear your thoughts on the Misli Premier League. Will you be able to compete for the title this season?
– I have a feeling this will be a very interesting and exciting championship. Many details will be decisive, and the tournament will be very competitive. We’ll give our best, and we’ll see how it ends.
