The chances of “Sabah,” “Zira,” and “Araz-Nakhchivan” advancing to the next round of the UEFA Conference League second qualifying stage are high.
Idman.biz reports that former Azerbaijani national team player Vagif Javadov said this in a statement to Report news agency.
He noted that “Sabah” achieved the desired result in the first match against Moldova’s “Petrocub”: “Sabah” secured the expected result in the first match. Many thought there was a lack of motivation in the team. But we didn’t see that. They returned from the away game with a 2-0 victory. I think they have a good chance and strong players to advance to the next round. I believe they will win in Baku as well.”
The former striker believes that “Zira” can achieve a good result away if they play as they did in Baku against Croatia’s “Hajduk”: “Zira” is a very good team with quality players. Before the match in Baku, many predicted a win for “Hajduk.” But Rashad Sadygov’s team fought well and even opened the scoring. They only conceded near the end. Despite that, “Zira” had scoring chances in the final minutes, and one shot even hit the post. I think if they play like they did in Baku, they can return with a good result. I don’t believe “Hajduk” will play the same way in Split, as they’ll want to win in front of their home fans. I hope we get a good result. Judging by the first match, I’d say the chances are equal.”
Javadov called “Araz-Nakhchivan,” who will face “Aris” in Greece, a solid team: “Araz-Nakhchivan also stood out with a strong performance in the first match. They proved to be a solid team in both European competitions and the Azerbaijani championship. I hope they assert themselves again and achieve the desired result to move on to the next round. I must note that “Aris” is also a strong team. But if “Araz-Nakhchivan” is leading on aggregate, then it means they’re the superior side.”
